PEX has become a proven system solution that reduces both material and labor costs while providing the reli­ability and peace of mind that building owners demand. The Presenters: Devin Abellon, PE and Mike Rivers, CPD

Devin Abellon is a registered professional engineer with over 19 years of experience in the Plumbing and HVAC field, designing systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, health care, and municipal projects. He was Vice President and managing principal of LSW Engineers California, Incorporated in San Diego until 2009, when he accepted a position as Business Development Manager for Uponor North America. He now works closely with engineers, contractors and building owners throughout the country, supporting projects that integrate PEX solutions and strategies to reduce cost and maximize energy efficiency. Devin earned his B.S. degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1993. He is an active member of ASPE and ASHRAE on the local chapter, regional, and Society levels and currently serves as the Programs Subcommittee Chair for ASHRAE TC6.5 – Radiant and Convective Space Heating and Cooling, as well as a Regional Vice Chair in Region X.

Mike Rivers is a product manager for Plumbing at Uponor North America. He holds more than 13 years of experience in the industry with an emphasis in plumbing system installation, application and design as well as new product development and product management for the commercial market. He holds a certification in plumbing design (CPD) from the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE). Rivers is a professional member of ASPE and the Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Minnesota State University at Mankato.
