Hydronic & Thermal Expansion Control for Hot Water & HVAC Applications

Tank sizing requirements for thermal and hydronic expansion conditions in HVAC and domestic water applications will be reviewed as part of this course. Differences between tanks and their application purpose will be discussed as well as proper installation requirements. This course will also highlight the function and definition of true tank potential versus actual acceptance volumes.

For 6 years Mr. Rutherford was a part-time educator with the Indiana Vocational Technical College, expanding the knowledge & skills of Indiana contractors. Mr. Rutherford started his career with Amtrol in 2006 as a commercial product sales engineer. Currently Mr. Rutherford is the Sr. ASME Product Engineer for Amtrol, providing commercial hydronic product support & continued education for commercial engineers both nationally & internationally. Mr. Rutherford also hosts state accredited contractor & inspector courses on tanks for hydronic applications as well as local ASPE chapter speaker events nationally. In 2021 Mr. Rutherford provided an expansion tank class at the ASPE Tech Symposium.
